Every URL, a live space.
Nobody reads alone anymore.
Every page gets a persistent room. People reading the same thing can chat, drop context, share sources, and react to what they see. Rooms accumulate memory over time.
Rooms by URL
Organized by the actual page, not a channel
Discord rooms are organized by topic. Basement rooms are organized by the webpage you're on. Open a product, an article, or a PR and you're in the room for that exact URL. No channel invites, no pinned threads, no server setup.

Always-on memory
The conversation is still useful when you're alone
Rooms keep memory. Annotations, links, reactions, calls from last week live on the page whenever someone lands on it. Walk into an empty room and you still get the receipts the last crew left behind.

"lived-in finish" means slightly faded. 2022 batch was darker. This pigment is legit black, not the 2023 gray washout.

Added Fed transcript. Powell hedged on rate cuts four separate times.

Presence + reactions
See who else is on the page right now
Live avatars at the top of every room. Reactions drop on the page, not in a feed. You can tell in one glance whether the room is five people hyped about a drop or a thousand arguing over a headline.
Open any page, walk into the room.
Install the Chrome extension or the iOS app. The room is already running on whatever URL you open next.
